Weight a Minute! Having Her Cake…And Eating it Too!

OK, Thanksgiving is tomorrow and we are getting ready to get down…
Down to the neck bone on the Turkey…
Down to the scrapings of the gravy…
Down to the last bite of Mac n’ Cheese…
Down to the Ham shank, that will be saved for next week’s Red Bean n Rice…
And Down to that obnoxiously delicious, pitiful last sliver of pie, that everyone is too ashamed to polish off.

In the midst of all this Thanksgiving Feasting, I would be remiss not to acknowledge everyone’s major concern,so, WEIGHT a minute! Timely as it could be, I am sharing and inbox message from a Menopausebarbee friend and reader. She asked how everyone is supposed to lose and maintain weight over the holidays,while feasting and not fasting.

First off, I don’t like any word that has DIE in it. Kill the DIET! My diet stands for Dana is Eating Today! But, I know this was a real concern for her, so I told her about a book I read, which might be helpful, and today, I am sharing for anyone who has struggled with dietary concerns:

I shared with my friend that based on her blood type, she should avoid most white foods i.e. sugar, rice, pasta and to eat more protein. She promptly responded and I quote, “Then, as of today, I am giving up everything white, except my husband!” I am still laughing out loud! I told her, that’s officially called having her cake… And eating it too!
