... the tales of two sisters

Dana lives in Seattle, and Tracie lives in Germany. We are businesswomen, writers and humorists. We write about life, dating, and today's modern women.

Me, Yours, Mine, Ours…

You took care of me…

I took care of yours…

You took care of mine…

We take care of ours..

I had the most surreal life experience this week. As a child, I longed to be by my Auntie Margie’s side. She was a glamorous flight attendant bringing me treasures from every destination she traveled.  This was an old family Christmas photo and I’m snuggled in my Aunt’s arms who til this day is as sweet as the candy cane that brought me joy.

Auntie Margie’s first born, Pohaku became the family’s baby and we doted on him.  Po spent countless nights in my mom and my care as Auntie Margie, a single mom at the time, traveled for Alaska Airlines from Hawaii to Russia and many exotic locations.

When I had children, Auntie Margie along with my sister, Tracie became their Godparents.

Fast forward four decades later, Po’s daughter, who calls me Fairy Godmother, because of our distance (she lives in Huntington Beach, California) came to stay with me. Admittedly, Gracie at 8 years old was afraid to fly alone, but she said nothing would keep her from her Fairy Godmom.

We had pedicures, swam, shopped, and ate donuts for breakfast from Madison Park Bakery.

We watched Hannah Montana and Marley and Me…

And when we said good-bye, I realized more than ever, family is the circle of life.  We are blessed to embrace.  Auntie Margie, you took care of me.. I took care of yours… We take care of OURS.

They will take care of US… xoxoxo
