She must be
very well mannered and polite
for she never ever stand
sin her husband’s spotlight.

In the picture below
wouldn’t you know
she defers to him again
as he stands larger than life
(such a good wife!)
overseeing the
Fairytale Christmas Market
beneath the medieval town gates
called Hahnentor
in the city of Cologne.

This market’s motto is
the talesof the Brothers Grimm–
how the market comes alive
when daylight begins to dim!

But back to the lady in question,
I imagine her full of expression
as she oversees the elves
and bakes cookies
way up high on the North Pole.
She no doubt
must have a very merry heart
living with such a jolly good soul.

Alongside every great man
there usually stands a great woman
and as far as this goes
Santa’s girl is no exception.

She tucks food and drinks
afely awayin his sleigh
and pets the reindeer
as Santa loads his gear.

She knows he’s off
and for a very good reason
for once again, it is the season.

And a candle she’ll burn
until his return,
and return he will
exhausted but full of glee
and he’ll call out
“Maarryyyy!!”

“Maaaaaary Christmas!!”
…And to all of you, a very good Monday night.
